It is true that every each drive ( C & D ) must have at least 10% free space other wise the drive will get cravy/need to format?

My case is i have transfer a big amount file to my D drive, so now i can't open the drive. It say 'Need to format'. what should i do? i don't want to format the D drive. I check it's properties, the circle is full blue. (No space at all) That is why my driver cannot be access?

Is there any other way to save all of my file inside that drive? Pls all PC expertizezz. I need you all help.

Also one more thing, why my PC sometimes restart by it self while i'm using it? during i do my job. Is the Ram got problem? Some people said Ram problem, some said got virus?

If you're getting a new harddisk, ask them to partition it into 2, 20GB for C drive & the rest for D drive.

Every PC must have graphics card, otherwise, no screen.

You can check yr graphics by looking at the screen just after you switch on the PC. It should state what kind of graphics & how many MB.

Most games requires at least 16MB nowadays. Even my kids' educational games also needs 16MB.

To tell frankly, yr current system will cost a lot to upgrade. Reason is that to upgrade the RAM will cost twice the cost of a DDRAM of the same capacity. RAM is the most important, to me.

With yr current system, only the harddisk, floppy drive & CD drive are the only  things you can carry over to a Pentium 4 system.

You need to buy:
1. P4 casing ($90)
2. 256MB DDRAM ($100)
3. P4 2.4A CPU ($490) or Celeron 2.6Ghz ($330)
4. P4 Motherboard ($150)

Options:
- 40GB IDE Harddisk ($180) or 80GB IDE Harddisk ($230) - Pls buy IDE harddisk, not SATA, still expensive. SATA is good for database usage. Good brands: WD, Hitachi etc.
- CDRW+DVD drive combo ($150)
- Dedicated (not integrated) 128MB Graphics Card ($200)

is it easy to install them myself? considering that i don't know anything about CPUs?so, conclusion, Imbi is the best place to go la?i'm in melaka....but please do tell.....

I prefer getting the shop to install everything, except the OS &  softwares. If anything happen during installation, they can rectify it on the spot. Not all eletronic/electrical device are tested by the shop, too many for them to check one by one. There's a term for it, D.O.A. (Dead On Arrival).

If you ask me which CPU for a good gaming experience, go with AMD instead of INTEL. Price wise, speed wise (speed to speed comparison), recommendations, everybody is pointing towards AMD. If you choose to go with AMD, only the CPU & motherboard are different from the above specs.

If u staying around Klang Valley, Imbi is still the best place to go. Low Yat have more PC shops & sometime cheaper than Imbi but service is suspect due to competitiveness.

HI! i have an outdated PC with these specs: (sorry, i'm not a computer geek, so i dont know so much)

- pentium 3,
- 60MB RAM
- win 98 2nd edition
- all programs are around '97
- bought on 99/2000
- now no office programs

my CPU is so slow for gaming, even in midtown madness i experience problems, graphics' sucks.....

i want to upgrade my pc so that i can install at least NFSU game.....

anyone can help me? what should i buy/upgrade? what should i do?

one more thing, should i install/upgrade by myself or ask the shop guy to install? which is better?

If I'm not mistaken, NFSU needs at least a graphics card of 32MB & 128MB RAM. So, I can safely say that yr system definitely is not worth upgrading. This is due to the price factor.

Reason is that, with current system:
1. you need to add more RAM. SDRAM cost more than DDRAM. Just yesterday I went to Imbi. Comparison: 256MB DDRAM cost $100 & 256MB SDRAM cost $220.
2. Win98 is not a good gaming OS, XP is. To upgrade to XP,u'll definitely need more RAM & CPU power.

Tomorrow will be Friday, 13th May 2005.

Remembered a few years ago when viruses were rampant & not many anti virus software were pro-active towards these attacks. There were warnings flying in the internet, advising people not to switch on their computers on a Friday the 13th.

Those days, many viruses were designed to be triggered by date. When the computer's internal date changes to Friday 13th, the virus will become alive & do their thing.....

Some offices completely ban their staffs from using the computers for one whole day. Others simply change their computer's internal date to one day ahead, which is 14th.

In the end, the warnings was itself a hoax.... and many offices suffered ZERO productivity & ZERO business on the Friday the 13th.

And 'hoax viruses' were born....

1. Dual channel nih... errr... nak cakap pun susah... lebih kurang camni laaaaa... performance 2 channel nih akan meningkat jika di'matchkan' sesama mereka... macam bateri match... contohnya... 256 + 256 = 512... tapi dengan dual channel... walaupun total 512, performancenya akan lebih daripada 512 yang biasa... he he he... lebih kurang la tu... tapi perlu diingatkan... tak guna nko pakai RAM Dual Channel jika Motherboard ngko tak support...

Contoh Dual Channel RAM:

-Geil
-Corsair
- Hyper-X
- Twister-X
- Dan banyak lagi...


2. platform biasa yang kita guna sekarang nih adalah 32 bit... jadi dengan terciptanya platform 64, ko bayangkan... 2 kali ganda kelajuannya... teori ni lebih kepada bus dan data transfering... aku amik contoh yang paling mudah... paip air rumah nko 5cm diameter... pastu cuba nko ganti ngan 10cm diameter... haaaaaaaaa... kan lebih air tu kuar... macam tu laaaaaaaa...

3. ngko carik saje kat low yat plaza... nak baru? nak 2nd?... semua ada... aku tak rekemen celeron untuk overcloack... risiko tinggi (intel tidak sesuai untuk overcloack)... jika nko ada diut... beli la sistem baru... tak mampu nak pakai platform 64 bit, beli jer 32bit (dah murah pun sekarang)... Motherboard ABIT NF-7 ngan AMD Barton (Cepat sebelum kehabisan!!!)... Jangan beli AMD Sempron... Performance lower than Athlon.... Nyesal nko nanti...

Wah Abang Jamal..PC canngih giler High-End tuh.. Heatsink besar bapak..Letak kat buggy nye enjin kompom tak overheat..heheh..

Windows Longhorn...64bit ..Hmm.. stabil betul. Aku ada tgk member aku try..tapi after 1 bulan kena reformat blk...maklumlah.... masih trial.  Tak tau la plak brapa harga dia nanti ni. Tak tau la plak apa yang bleh Virus Creator's bleh buat dengan OS ni.

Kalau Linux tue...kena virus pun dia tak kisah..bleh tepis mcm tu je..tak rosakkan OS.

Jaring dengar nak launch Wi-Fi bulan Oktober ni. Tapi dah masuk bulan Oktober ni takde cerita apa pun. Berita ni aku dapat dari budak Jaring sendiri. Apa yang aku tau area Wangsa Maju akan ada servis ni. Janganlah asyik P.J je... semua bebenda baru yang canggih PJ akan dapat. Maklumlah kadar pendapatan setiap rumah tinggi kat sana. Tapi bila main game yg extreme (bukan le Monopoly Tycoon ke, Chess Master ke) graphic tak 'cun' le. Dia tak ada rasa macam game tu nak terkeluar dari monitor!
