Towards A Malaysian RC Governing Body!

1) Kalau bolehlah aku nak sorang "secretary" (bukan pakai mini skirt) utk bantu aku utk survey  ;Dhehehe. Aku suggest Jamal sebab dia pandai mgt forum.

Kita bagi masa dua minggu dari tarikh hari ini utk survey. Tajuk forum dah buat OK.

2) Tentang tarikh aku dah contact Azizi utk dpt ruang di Glenmarie. Meeting Jun ini ialah utk protem formalise &  kick off the governing body.  Kita perlu foundation dulu. Lepas tu baru kita panggil meeting yang besar & jemput wakil-wakil negeri.

Eh... lupa pulak nak guna Bahasa Inggeris ...  

1. Survey telah secara tak langsung, dilancarkan, dgn hadirnya topik ini. Petikan dari TechTV (ch. 13 Astro) rancangan Nerd, "I DON'T LIKE THE WORD 'SECRETARY'!" I think as a moderator is enough work/post for me, thank you!  

2. Ok, understood. In a way, the planned meeting is, sort of, to start off/initial move towards getting everybody on the same 'track'.

I think nobody knew about the current status of the said 'badan induk yg berdaftar kat FEMCA/IFMAR'. The question has been asked & discussed widely before.

My personal opinion, rather than we dwell & wait for this so called 'FEMCA/IFMAR registered body', why not we 're'start the effort of getting an RC governing body in the country.

My suggestion to your plan of a discussion/meeting for this purpose:

1. Come up with a survey / consensus of the idea in this forum. When everything have been said & settled, all the ideas can be gathered & tabled at the discussion/meeting.

1. Buat survey dlm forum ni tentang meeting tersebut, bukak satu topik khas. Bila dah difikirkan cukup sambutan, kemudian baru boleh dikumpulkan semua pendapat & dibentangkan pada meeting tersebut nanti.

2. Choosing the right date for the discussion/meeting, where most of the RC activist can attend. The best is to hold it a day before a race most likely to be attended by racers from every state.

2. Memilih tarikh yg bersesuaian dimana kebanyakan aktivis RC akan dpt berkumpul. Yang terbaik ialah pada tarikh dimana akan diadakan suatu RC race yg akan dihadiri oleh majoriti RC racers seluruh tanahair. Buat meeting sehari sebelum race tersebut.

3. Formally invite individuals which have, in their own initiative, started something similar in their area/states. Examples: Pak Ya, DoubleRR, Sariman, Danny Teh & the hobby shop people.

3. Jemput secara email kpd Individu2 yg difikirkan perlu hadir dlm meeting tersebut. Individu2 ini boleh dikira sebagai wakil setiap negeri/kelab. Malah kalau perlu, dibuat lantikan secara undi.

English name : Remote Control Sport Association of Malaysia (RCSAM)

Kriteria utama FEMCA nak bagi authority bagi sesuatu persatuan dan body mewakili Malaysia ialah kelab atau persatuan itu  mesti berdaftar secara sah di Malaysia. Kemudian kena bayar subscription fee lebih kurang RM 5000 setahun.

This body is given rights to do the followings (pinjam posting evogo):

* Officially announce and distribute FEMCA and IFMAR news, race schedule, procedure, and race format
* Homologate RC items (i.e, battery, body and motor) in Malaysia in accordance to IFMAR standard
* Apply and seek FEMCA approval on the allocated number of Malaysian drivers in any international event organise or sanction by IFMAR, FEMCA or their associated organisation
* Select member drivers that will represent Malaysia in any international event organise or sanction by IFMAR, FEMCA or their associated organisation
* Submit application or bidding to organise regional FEMCA event or IFMAR world event

Wakil FEMCA ini bukan kekal, kalau tak buat kerja & tak bayar subscription fee, wakil lain akan dipilih. Jadi power to lobby for this recognition is up to us.

not just making profit, some contribution to the community needed to make sure the interest keep growing.

[1) Authorised body]

I agree with everybody that we need a body to monitor  RC activities whether EP or GP. RCAC can be the vehicle, so does other clubs or associations. Put that aside and let us see what sort of association that we required.

1) Authorised body
This is most crucial. Approval and recognition from government must first be done. To be an authorised body beside getting approval from ROC is to get authorisation from Suruhanjaya sukan. I think on this part Jamal & Pak Ya can help us a lot.

2) Firm R & R
With a firm R&R that covers all aspects of RC, we will have a strong basis to run the assosiation. Most association's R & R are only focusing on managing recrational activities but not as a sanctioning and homologation body. Therefore we need a R & R which incude managing recrational activities, sanctioning, homologation, and so on.

What do I meant by sanctioning ? The body will require to recognise races based on a set of criteria. The criteria to evaluate are racing rules, fixtures, etc.

What do I meant by homologation ? The body will form a commitee to approve RC items for racing. For EP this will covers bodyshell, battery and motor.  

These are the two items almost none existence in most association's R &R. We have to sit down and have a think tank for this. RC people are not lacking of quality that can drafted the R & R.

3) Members
Membership should not be restricted. It should be opened to everybody.

4) Financial aid
If we collect just fee from members, it is not enough for the association. Where do we get this money ? Example, take the X game. How big company provide sponsorship ? Common ppl like you and me are not expert in this. In RC there are people who can canvas. There are also bigshots. This is why we need a patron. Nobody realise that we already have VIPs and bigshots who are willing to help us. Lets us invite Tengku as our patron.

The government can also paly a major role here. This is why we need to register with the Suruhanjaya sukan.

5) International recognition
After everything is in place, then only we apply for international recognition. International body at any time can recognise us as long as we have a strong foundation and financially sound. At this moment IFMAR is the only international authorised body for RC. This we will discuss later.  


OK. What's next ?
I've mentioned in my earlier posting about a protem meeting. We need a big place to cater for everybody. Glenmarie has the space. Early June should be the target. We need also representatives from RCAC and other associations  to explain us on their R & R and vision. Everybody is welcome. No hiding.  Representatives from LHS, race organisers, RC manufacturer are mostly welcome. Top racers and racers must attend this.

Somebody said we need fund to organise this meeting. Then let us chip in for the meeting.   OK ....for now.
