DSM DX2 (Spektrum)

I dont think there's anyone using a DX2 system over here yet. But there's a lot of Spektrum Module upgrade of existing radios. For that price, you wont be able to get anything new here. What more with a spektrum module and Rx alone costing around that figure. I guess if you are planning on having this hobby for a long time (a couple of years  ) and competing then you might as well spend on a proper competition grade radio. Update to a spektrum module later.

Take a look in RC magazines (especially coverage on races) see anyone using radios other than the top three brands?

I want to use Spektrum coz I don't want antenna coming out from my car. So, I need yr honest opinion:

Question 1:
DSM DX2... anybody used this before? I'm well aware that it's targeted for beginners/intermediate - so, it suits me just nice  

Straight out of the box, it comes with tx/rx and 2 servos... at only (after conversion USD to RM) RM650. My friend, Mr Tayartercabut is now in US, so, he can get me one.

Question 2:
If you have a limited budget of say... RM800, would you spend RM650 for this... or spend RM400 for 2nd hand Mars R + ~RM380-400 for 2nd hand spektrum module system?
