Hi OCY,

Just wonder whether u stock this 1/16 buggy in your place

TamTech-Gear The FROG

How much it should cost then...

Yes they have the "TamTech-Gear The Frog" Buggy in Tamiya UnderGround. Please feel free to browse their thread in RCTECH Forum under Malaysian Thread. Lots more information available about Tamiya Underground and it's products in RCTECH Forum.

Thank you....

Regards...

Hairi,

Hope to catch you this weekend.

Drift kid,

Have checked with Japan regarding your orders, I'm sorry, they have stopped production for this car. Why not come over to Tamiya Underground and check out some of the new kits. I'll give you a good discount for being a Tamiya Fan.

Sim, Mtx3

The buggy class will be interesting. We will be adding some interestin obstacles. Surprise surprise....

Cheers.

Since we will be competing in the same category, do you mind sharing with the rest of us the setup for the buggy?  Grin

Hi! I tried to set the buggy up today to test it at 1 Utama but my servo saver seems to have stripped or something. I swapped to the Tamiya High Torque version and so far it seems to work okay.

The main hop-ups I have on the buggy are ball bearings and aluminium shock absorbers. The aluminium ones give more damping than the plastic ones but still the buggy is smacking the ground after just a short drop (less than 1 foot). I'm still testing so far but I have
Front suspension: Aluminium shocks, innermost arm mounting point, #800 Tamiya oil, 3 hole piston.
Rear suspension: Aluminium shocks, innermost arm mounting point, #1000 Tamiya oil, 3 hole piston (might change to 2 hole if I can find the piston), 12 tamiya red 0-rings on each shock shaft.  Tongue

front toe is more or less 0 degrees as far as I can agak. All camber is stock since I'm just using the stock plastic rods. The tires are the most important. The spikes grip the carpet quite well. If they are slightly worn, that should be okay but if botak.... you will be doing a drift demo on Sunday Wink

Oh ya, I think I will buy some velcro from the DIY shop in 1 Utama before the race to velcro my body to the chassis. Chee Yong has said that it's legal. I ran the buggy only 1 lap today and collected quite a lot of carpet hair on the chassis. It should work great for my Gravel Hound body but not sure if the Rising Storm body can fit the chassis very snugly.

I think the most important thing is to try to get your rear suspension as hard as you can (if still using plastic shocks, use the 1 hole piston and buy the Tamiya hard oil set and use #1000). I think no matter what we do, the chassis  is going to slap the floor, but hopefully not so hard that it breaks.  Sad

Hairi,

Hey fren, spoken to you b4 but have not seen you. Please do drop by so that i can have a chance to know you.

Yes bro, If i am free, i have a good reason to go down to KL. ( Hope my eyes didn't pop out & my pocket burn...  Grin )

Chee Yong,

Thanks. I'll drop by today to get some stuff. The Supra looks nice but I think I'll hold out for the F430. It's not every day I get to buy a Ferrari Smiley

Yes Bro, agred with you. The Ferrari details are so nice. That is why the street price for that body is different...
I still keep that original body nicely in its box... Cool

shock oil, spring rates, etc....

mine comes in stock with the exception of the full ball bearings...no blue blue thingy can be found on my chassis. tried running my buggy at the underground track last weekend, it was a blast! unfortunately my tires are botak so a few occassions of side drifting so to speak. will definitely purchase the new tyres for the required traction.

i have yet to install the RS-540 motor in the buggy...have you?

hopefully i will be at the track this coming saturday for the final prep.

regards,

Also, I just realised I have another Tamiya on-road car I can play with at your track. I won't tell you what it is yet but it's a blast from the past. I'll try and see if I can get a 5mm ride height on it and bring it for some fun next day, but not today lah. Today is buggy setup day.

Oh ya you should post up the shop phone number here. What is it again?
