Pak Ya,

Thanks for the compliments and for visiting my site. I'll be putting in more RC stuff. I have more cars than is healthy for my wallet, but I want to make a web page for each of them with mini reviews and pit tricks before I sell them off. I'll let everyone know when there's new stuff on the site.

Also, that was actually the first race I've ever attended. From now on, I'll be doing little race reports like that whenever I am at a race and will include pictures next time Smiley

Welldone, Sim your write-up is very informative hope we have more of our people who will be doing this kind of service.

I wish I was there running my SB Acedemy Sports Buggy.

(Note: I have been to your website. Enjoyed reading on your adventures).

Ok I'll do it for the off-road category...

The turnout could have been better (only about 6 offroaders showed up and one was out of the race the whole day after practice). But definitely it was a good start for EP offroad. It was really nice of Hobby Haven and HPC to give it a try and I hope we can see more fun races like these. Unfortunately, we didn't take any videos or even still pictures. Next time around, I will bring the camera to try and take some pictures.

As for the Team Losi representation, I'm afraid that one buggy that was out of the race the whole day was the BK2 that Elwyn was supposed to drive, and the other Losi there was my XXX-T, which was the slowest thing on the track for almost every heat. But that's not an accurate reflection of the quality of the brand. Team Losi makes some of the best performing, lowest maintenance vehicles in RC and Hobby Haven provides great support at very reasonable prices for Losi owners. Unfortunately, my cap ayam driving and Elwyn's electronic problems meant we weren't really giving the other drivers a good fight.

Most of the day, the fight for first place was between Hafiz (driving a Yokomo MR4-BC) and Uthaya (with a very fast Team Associated RC10T3) with 3rd place mostly fought between Ng (RC10T a.k.a. T1) and Loh Kai Yan (Tamiya DF-02 Rising Storm). Hafiz was running around like crazy between driving his onroad car, his offroad buggy, and marshalling duties. Uthaya drove down from all the way from Penang in the morning and made it just in time for heat 2. Ng had a bit of morale boost from his biggest fan (his son lah).

There was hardly anything to tweak (that I would know of anyway) on the offroad trucks, so we mostly spent the time chatting (and in my case making new friends), except for Hafiz and Kai Yan who were in both categories and spent almost every spare second fiddling with their touring cars. Tongue

Oh ya, I owe very big thanks to Eric from Hobby Haven for all the pit tips and the help with the truck setup, and also for organising the race.

It was definitely a fun way to spend a Sunday even though I had to leave before the final heat. I'll try and put in a bit more practice and put on a better show next time.

Also, very big thanks to the volunteer turn marshalls who flipped all our turtles back on their feet. They weren't assigned as marshalls but they decided to help out anyway. Very cool!

Mula2 memang ada cadang nak bashing SB Sport di Glenmarie kerana hari tu masa MNC4 TTwangsa, baru je nak sedap bawak hujan turun selebat2 nya. Tak sempat lenyek kereta Baja King kawan tu.

Bila SB pergi, Kyosho Optima akan ikut menunggu tuan tanah menuntuk hak nya. Tetapi apakan daya ia terpaksa bertapa lama sikit kerana pemegang mohor2 buggy nak ke Nibong Tebal.

RC is an activity which needed everybodys' support to make it happens. So when someone organize a race, support it to the best we can, whether in KL, Klang, Ipoh or North. But if only a few came why should an organizer continue to do it.

I notice KL/Klang have its own group of drivers. When they have races the numbers are there to support it. They dont really need outstation drivers to make the numbers. But it would have been better for the more drivers the merrier the occasion will be.

But here in Ipoh or Penang, Sg Petani or further up, Organizer are worried about the turn-up. This is because one need to spend money for any type of race - trophies / rental of track site, transponders, tentages, table & chairs and food.
So if only a few turn up what is the point of doing it.

We have various level of drivers;
1. Sponsored drivers - have race will travel.
2. Serious drivers - will choose big/happening races.
3. Casual drivers - race only when it is local and low cost.
4. Beginners - still afraid to join races.

As I see it Ipoh need Northen drivers' support and it works both ways. But it will be a happening if our Top drivers friends from KL can support us as well.

It is hard luck that the 2 races clashes thus everyone have to make their own choice.

Would like to apologies to the organizer that PARCRA may not send a team to Glenmarie.

Our friends up North need support to make up the numbers, so that the event will continue yearly by their sponsors.

Definitely we will be at Glenmarie for other occasion.

Thanks Pak Ya for the support.  Cool
