By mid November, the major hobby shops in Klang Valley should be carrying some of these goodies. And hopefully by December we should see flagship Tamiya showroom up and running.

If there is any enquiries, feel free to call.

Cheers. Cheesy

One question only, are the races limited to models from Tamiya?

Hi guys,

just to update you guys on the progress...

a local company had been registered to be the sole agent for Tamiya Malaysia. The full range of Tamiya goodies will be available soon not just RC.

For RC fans, the 1st race will be in December in collaboration with Hobby Haven. It will be a indoor carpet race including buggies. Buggy fans, get ready!

And the 1st round of the Tamiya Qualifying Series is expected to kick off in March. The latest RC stuffs is already being used by some of our local drivers. Even the latest 415 MSX and the TA05 is being tested for the coming FEMCA. By mid November, the major hobby shops in Klang Valley should be carrying some of these goodies. And hopefully by December we should see flagship Tamiya showroom up and running.

If there is any enquiries, feel free to call.

Cheers. Cheesy

I'm a llama!

Hi guys,

Great to see your interest in the series. The Official rules to date for the series race that will be used is posted in RCtech. The following chassis is the only chassis allowed in the buggy class at the finals in Asia Cup and World Cup. DF-02.

For starters we should not expect to see the Buggy kit not cost more than RM599 with Complete ball bearings, ESC and motor. This is an indicative pricing at the moment from the guys that are bringing in Tamiya to Malaysia soon.

Keep your queries coming. the series will be run yearly and  it should send teams every year to the asia cup finals.

A place to represent your country in an all asia event is yours for the taking. Lets show the rest of asia we are a force to be reckoned with.

In Best Regards I Remain

In fact the buggy class is the most interesting in the sense that its low in maintenance with lots of thrills & spills. There is also less hop-ups. very much on skills around the track & during a jump.
And guess what, it will be done on indoor carpet with ramps and bumps.

Sam,
Hope to see you competing seriously next year. Got ticket to go TAC & eventually Japan Tamiya World Championship.

Category 1,2 & 3 as mentioned is going to be interesting. Its purely skills & set-up. There is only so much that you can hop-up or buy. Its meant as a cost control measure at the same time remain very competitive.
The current problem with RC is cost & also the very fast guys are giving almost no chance to others. With the introduction of these categories, more will stand a chance. The champion of a category will not be entitled the grand prize in the same category the following year & can only come back to the same category after the complete cycle of all categories, 1 category in a year, which will take some years. We want more champions & more new comers. Races are being planned in indoor shopping complexes where racers comfort, the fun factor, the competitiveness & the awareness to the public to attract new comers will be the main focus.

Yes, this is good new. I am a Tamiya fan and I have always find the quality and make of the car is among the best in the RC business. The trouble for a newcomer such as myself is that the support for Tamiya cars are very, very low here. Most people that are involve in RC's are running other brands and there are very popular here compared to Tamiya's.

If this really comes true, you can count on me to participate in the events held. It will be fun and challenging...

I'm a llama!

Hi Malaysia,

We have been in talks with the Tamiya representatives and have confirmed that Tamiya will be making a come back into the malaysia hobby scene very soon. As a start Tamiya Msia would like to announce that there will be a series race held annualy starting next year. The following formats has been proposed:

5 Race series begining in March (Date will be announced by End November). The final race will incorporate the Tamiya Invitational Open that was held this year at Klang. At stake will be the following prizes:

1) The pride of representing your country in the regional finals
2) 3 Air Tickets with Accomodation to participate in the Tamiya Asia Cup Finals in Thailand in Sept 06.

There will be attractive prizes(Car Kits) in each of the series races and many more in the final. The race will consist of the following catagories:

1) Stock (TT-01 Chassis only)
2) GT (TA & TB Series Chassis)
3) Buggy (only DF-02 Chassis)
4) Expert (Open Class)

Only Catagories 1,2 and 3 will be entitled to the Air ticket prizes.

RCtech has an attached standard rules and regulations for the reference of everyone ( applies to catagories 1,2 & 3.

There is one basic guideline:

All parts must be Tamiya and the options used must be the ones meant for that chassis only. No modification in anyway will be allowed.

Watch this space for more information or email to Tamiya_msia@yahoo.com.my
