yeah righttt

A tripod is a great option, but it's not handy or convenient!

monopod bruther monopod! it's collapsible...and in case of emergency can be used to whack anything! and...no need to hold your breath for the ultimate shot etc etc but please never hang it on your belt  Grin Grin

lee, how do u want to capture moving objects? u want it recorded on mpeg3 or 4 format for playback later or you want to capture fast moving objects with streaking effect etc etc? most digital compact can do recording now; only limited by disc capacity but clarity will suffer. for the latter... u can tweak a combination of aperture size and shutter speed if the camera permits adjustments.

as per optical vs digital zooms; zooming via optical is the "closing-up" of the image done via the stack of lenses in your camera while digital zoom is the one done by the camera's cpu via interpolation of the pixels; ie. the camera's cpu smartly fill-in the pixels during enlargement/closing up of an image. the closing-up or enlargement done via glass lenses are far superior and produces better final image than done via digital alone.

confused? me too! LOL!

paklan, seblum era digital ni ko sedikit sebanyak musti tera bab2 kamera filim nih.......aku nak tanya sikit pasai film camera...apa maksud APS camera..yg aku tau filim utk aps ni berbeza dari filim 35mm biasa...hang tau ka..rega filim tu brapa satu roll? ada juai ka sini...or just avaialble kat luaq negeri ja..bukan apa ada sedara aku nak bg kemra tu..dia beli kat japan masa dok sana dulu...cuma bat dia dah kong...dia soh aku beli batt lith dia mau kat RM45 ..aku takut2 beli batt nanti rugi je pasai filim takdak ka..mahal ka.. Grin

Tq

errr...aku tak berapa tau sangat pasai APS camera ni. Apa yang aku tau:

APS
1. Saiz ngan quality filem ada beza ngan 35mm. Lagi besaq.
2. Failed concept. Orang tak mau pakai sebab APS targeted for average consumer. Kita dah biasa dengan 35mm. Orang pikiaq buat apa beli benda baru n lagi mahai. Baik maintain 35mm...
3. So consumable utk APS memang payah sikit nak jumpak. Kat Melaka ni pun ada 1 kedai ja juai filem APS.

p/s: Basikal baru dah beli ka? Dah kayuh balik belum?Kat Taiping nun ramai ka kaki? Kat Melaka aku tak nampak la...yang kayuh sorang-sorang ramai la...tapi bukan MTB Huh

A tripod is a great option, but it's not handy or convenient!

I think if I'm serious I'll have to save up and dump a few kilo's on my next digicam.

I'm planning a hit on the local banks...need 2 point man and a safe man..I'm going to be the driver!

Rancak jugak sembang/diskusi tentang fotografi nih..Bagus terutama kepada Paklan (rasanyer dah taraf expert Paklan nih)...

Anyway, macam maner pulak ttg penggunaan 'zoom'. Maksud disini, digital zoom vs optical zoom?..

Sekian terimakasih.

p/s: hajat di hati nak memiliki Canon EOS350D, tapi wang tak cukup banyak...

a tripod?  Grin better still the 1 with a gyro  Tongue j/k lee... perhaps anyone with image stabilizer will do to some extend. nothing beats steady hand or tripod for zooming around (monopod can be very handy!) i'd always go for optical zoom rather than opting solely for digital zoom. a super expensive digital camera released today will be considerably cheaper in about 6 months. i've an olympus with all those features and perhaps its price has dipped to below 2K now

You're right lah fren! Grin Grin Grin

Paklan,
what recommendations for a camera that can take sharp pictures with unsteady hands??is this parameter classified or quantifiable, like how many MP, etc???how do we know if the camera can capture sharp images with unsteady hands? by the manufacturers advertisement?
I notice that with full optical zoom, the slightest shake will cause a blurred picture...Sad( my hands are already quite steady, i can shoot guns very accurately!!

Go for camera that features Image Stabilizer (or somethin' like that). I don't remember the exact model but Canon, Panasonic and Nikon do offer that feature

Also,
How to determine if the camera can take pictures of moving objects? My current camera can only take static subjects....

The select button should have an icon of a running man (or somethin' like that) to indicate 'sport-mode'.
I think only medium to high end cameras have that mode.
Never saw that feature in any compacts though...

Based on those two criteria, is there anything below RM2k??

Aiyak! Don't think so la fren. Camera that has those features usually are medium to high end one...don't think RM2k is enough... Cry Cry

p/s: Rather than you buang RM2k, better to trade it with a new BD Yok....hehehehehe Grin Grin Grin

dulu aku suka btol dgn "film" camera ni ... thrill dia tunggu masa nak develop! jadi ...tak jadi..  Grin lama2 tak larat nak maintain negatives dr berkulat! tambah2 susah nak develop b&w kat kedai! nak develop sendiri kang bertambah lak sel kanser. enter digital... boleh preview immediately...tak suka..delete! tak payah nak ada vacuum box etc etc... harddisk dgn memory cards dah manyaakk murah la ni!

Tu pasal la aku masyuk digital....
Nak buat archiving pun senang.
Cuma satu je la kelemahan digital ni...boleh buat kita jadik malas & tak creative...
Aku pernah pergi pantai pagi-pagi buta (lepas subuh terus pegi tu...), click sana click sini, ambik gambar lebih dari 2GB, balik tengah hari, lepas tu bila upload masuk PC, semua tak boleh pakai...sia-sia je....

Aku pulak suka pakai kamera yg boleh capture 2 gambar satu frame. Bermakna 'double the capacity'. Beli 36 dpt 72.

Sekarang ni, bukan setakat double, triple & multiple, just by choosing resolution. Sony aku boleh sampai 5MP, beli 2nd hand dari Pak Ya.

Ciao
 Cool

macam polariod ka? maximum multiple kan?

EOS 300 film SLR bang! Considered entry level SLR.
Harga tak sure...
Kalau digital SLR:
EOS 300D (Silver & Black Spec)
EOS 350D
Pendek kata, kalau EOS tu belakang dia ada 'D', makna dia digital la tu... Grin Grin
EOS 300 (pakai negetif filem)
