i agreed with IETIZEDI....the authorities not only cirit but taik kucing...yes...this world right now: u want to be good money+contact...what can we say?but we all must united so this hobby never die..like in penang right now, the rcers some kind like lost la...even the 'Apek of Hobby Acme' quiet penin...his shop at macro penang already gulung tikar...only left at the megamall prai only...hope this kind of situation will never happen in ipoh...
united we stand....

I agreed with you!!! Grin Grin Grin  I don't think this hobby will die because I have seen it for the past 5 years since involved with the hobby.  The amount of people interested with this hobby is increasing every year but not enough "fund" to get involved seriously.  Most of them is only playing for fun with others like me.   Smiley  Only a few of them is a hardcore racer who don't have any problems with "cash".

The main problem encounter with this new-comer is a place to play the car.  The LHS in Ipoh I think will never die because I have seen some of them does not concentrate solely on car rc only.  They also concentrate on areial rc such as aeroplane, helicopter.  But the scenario here in Ipoh is that the rc business is slow unlike in major town such as Kuala Lumpur.  The business is booming only whenever there is a race being organised around the corner.  This is when we can get spare parts a lot because the LHS won't order the spare part in small quantities.

For me maybe it is not a problem.  I can order via internet......the wonders of today!!!  But be prepared to settle by USD....duit RM tak laku.  Most shops in Australia accept SGD based from my previous transaction.  Not much the difference rate involved.  But I do hope this LHS in Ipoh will survive this crucial moments!!!! Cool

Err....  past/retired Dato or Tan Sri's sons doesn't count as influential enough. Even if the father is still alive, even he will be ignored & unrecognised if they passed by him!!!  Angry Angry

First 3 yrs after retirement/stepping down for new leaders, they will give hampers during hari raya. Masuk tahun ke-4, setakat salam atau angkat tangan je le...  Lips sealed Cry

Ciao
 Sad

Mengeloh macam pernah melalui suasana je??

Yes !!! we are former Dato' Sri's sons, and we know how our father felt after he stepdown. He became a nobody to the authorities. Just a small column in the papers announcing his passing away.

So lets do what we can together. We need all RC enthusiast to support what we try to achieve. But just by writing in this forum is not enough. Be a member of your local club/association (isi borang & be paid member) make your club/association strong. Office bearers cannot fight these battles alone.

All I known who is involved in this hobby is purely "rakyat biasa" and not someone from the Dato or Tan Sri family background.  If one of the son of the Dato or Tan Sri is involved in rc, I can bet that the Ipoh government will alocate and built a permanent track in Ipoh.  They only want publicity without doing anything!

Just wondering why they announce the Sports Tourism Year 2004 only in Sept?

They are not really serious in their effort to promote the sports activities unless all expenses are full paid by the organizers themselves. The authorities just latch on to get as much mileage in the Publicity - yes for publicity. The rakyat will
think that the authorities is doing something for the rakyat.

Then questions will be made to PARCRA, why we do not get involve in the activities. How? I have send letters to DBI and JBS about our existance and PARCRA had also applied to convert/build, on our own cost/effort, a track in a hardly use recreation area from DBI 2 months back. Until now they say they are still considering.

You know about Perak JBS ejecting RC activities in their premise. This is not THE way to promote Sports Tourism.

The soon-to-happen RC race on the 12th Sept. the organizer have asked for help but did not get any sponsor to run the race, except free rental charges from DBI.

So will that answer your question on mencelah a bright opportunity?

Yessss!  You are 100% right about this issue.  Damn the Perak Government especially the JBS who is responsible to promote sports and recreation in Ipoh.  No wonder Malaysia did not get ANY medals in Athens!!!  The Ipoh authorities actually is like "melepaskan batuk di tangga" only.  They want publicity without paying anything.  It is pure wasting time to promote the so called Sports Tourism Year 2004 for them while in reality we are being abused and used solely by them.  As for the DBI issue,  as we all know that the DBI is a new breed of "mafia".  Communicate with them is like talking to a brick wall unless you have something in return for them for taking their time to listen to you.  I don't think Pak Ya letter is being attended to because we are all "normal" people to them.

The management of JBS Ipoh is pure cirit!!  They the one who must get involved in this Sports Tourism but they seems to be running out of ideas already.  Look at the recently so called "motor show".  They really don't know the definition of the word "motor show".  For them maybe if the car is converted to turbo is entitled to be called motor show!  Aiyaah!  local car ma!  Not the imported one!  A lot of these cars can be found daily on the road!  If they want to see the REAL motor show..., the RC have them all!  Maybe the organizers paid handsomely to the JBS for the usage of the track and compound! "Dah bayar cantik, buatle apa pun" . It shows how selfish of them!!! Smiley

As for the celah-mencelah.  Tak payahle.  Don't waste your time Pak Ya.  The respective authorities have shown disrespect to us and it is time to say "simpan aje" to them if they want our support to them!!!!
